Physical installation
Remove existing deadbolt, fit smart lock to door, verify alignment, calibrate, test mechanical fallback.
Services · Las Vegas Valley
Smart lock installation in the Vegas Valley is one of our most-common modern jobs. We install and commission Schlage Encode, Schlage Encode Plus, Yale Assure 2, August Wi-Fi, Level Lock, and Kwikset Halo Touch — and integrate them with Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, Google Home, SmartThings, Z-Wave, and Control4/Crestron/Lutron smart-home hubs. Smart locks deliver remote access, family codes, motion-triggered notifications, vacation-mode automation, and historical entry logs. We do the install AND the smart-home commissioning — most generalist locksmiths skip the second half.
Every job follows a methodology hierarchy — non-destructive first, drilling or replacement only when needed. We default to preservation over destruction.
Remove existing deadbolt, fit smart lock to door, verify alignment, calibrate, test mechanical fallback.
Pair lock with Wi-Fi router, hub (HomeKit/SmartThings/Hubitat/Control4), or directly with phone app. Test remote access.
Set master code, family codes, guest codes, vacation mode. Walk through phone-app behavior with customer.
Some Vegas homes have poor Wi-Fi at entry doors — we diagnose signal and recommend mesh-extender placement if needed.
Owner-trained on every major brand. Tell us the make and model on the phone — manufacturer schematic lookup cuts on-site time by ~30%.
Smart lock install starts with confirming which platform you use — HomeKit, SmartThings, Hubitat, Control4, Crestron, Lutron, or no hub (Wi-Fi direct). We dispatch from Spring Valley and arrive with the customer's specific lock model in stock or pick it up en route. The technician removes the existing deadbolt, fits the smart lock, verifies bolt alignment with the door frame strike plate, and tests the mechanical fallback (key or override). Then comes the commissioning: pair the lock with the chosen platform, set the master and family codes, configure vacation-mode and motion-triggered notification preferences, and walk the customer through phone-app behavior. Network troubleshoot if Wi-Fi at the door is weak. Total time: 45–90 minutes per door for a standard install + commission.
Las Vegas locksmith pricing is too often "quoted on the phone, then changed on the truck." We give a flat-rate quote in writing before any work begins. Below is our standard pricing.

Factors that change time on-site:
Things we wish every Vegas customer knew. Following these saves time, money, and avoids damage.
Use lithium AA batteries in Vegas summer — alkaline dies 30% faster above 110°F.
For multi-door installs (front + back + garage), schedule all in one visit. We commission in batch and you save on service-call time.
If your Wi-Fi router is more than 30 ft from the front door, plan for a mesh extender at the door — Schlage Encode and Yale Assure 2 both have spotty coverage at range.
For HomeKit integration, the house's "home hub" must be a HomePod, Apple TV, or iPad always-on. Confirm yours is set up before we arrive.
Smart lock LOG history is your best post-installation insurance — review it weekly the first month.
For Schlage Encode Plus, HomeKit accessory mode unlocks the best Apple integration — request this specifically.
Smart lock installation requires ownership/possession verification. After installation, the master code is set by the customer privately — we do NOT retain master codes. For rental-property installs, we coordinate with the landlord on master/tenant code hierarchy. For estate transitions, we recommend immediate master-code reset after possession transfer.

Brand-specific smart lock installation pages — pricing, methodology, and FAQ tailored to the cylinder or hardware on your door.
Including the lock: $180–$400 per door. With your own lock: $120–$220 install + commission. Plus the $150 service call (waived on jobs over $250).
Schlage Encode Plus for HomeKit homes; Yale Assure 2 for SmartThings/Alexa homes. Both with metal keypads (not polymer) — polymer cracks in Vegas summer UV.
Yes. We commission across HomeKit, SmartThings, Hubitat, Control4, Crestron, and Lutron platforms.
Local features (keypad, manual key, family codes) work without Wi-Fi. Remote access, notifications, and integrations require Wi-Fi or a hub.
Most smart locks: 8–12 months on lithium AA in Vegas climate; less on alkaline (5–7 months). The lock will warn you 30 days before depletion.
Yes — most locks support 20–100 unique codes. We set up the initial codes; you can add/revoke via the phone app.
Yes — we set up motion-triggered notifications, family-share access, and a temporary "do-not-disturb" override for travel periods.
