Standard key cutter, on-site, from VIN or working key.
Services · Las Vegas Valley
Car key replacement in Las Vegas covers lost-key, stolen-key, and broken-key scenarios for cars, trucks, motorcycles, and most recreational vehicles. We cut and program transponder keys, smart keys (push-start fobs), and remote-keyless-entry fobs on-site at your home, office, or roadside location — saving you the tow-truck cost of getting to a dealership. Most vehicles 2010 and newer are smart-key vehicles requiring OBD-II programming; we use the MaxiIM IM608 platform for the broadest compatibility.
Every job follows a methodology hierarchy — non-destructive first, drilling or replacement only when needed. We default to preservation over destruction.
Standard key cutter, on-site, from VIN or working key.
Cut and program a chip-embedded transponder key via OBD-II to your vehicle's immobilizer. Works on most makes 1996–2015.
Register a new push-start smart key with the vehicle immobilizer using OBD-II. Some vehicles require dealer-only "all-keys-lost" recovery — we identify on the phone.
Program just the remote-lock/unlock buttons. Common when the physical key works but the remote stopped responding.
Owner-trained on every major brand. Tell us the make and model on the phone — manufacturer schematic lookup cuts on-site time by ~30%.
A car key replacement call starts with the VIN. Give us your VIN on the phone — it tells us whether your vehicle is dealer-only or DIY-programmable, what chip generation, and what key blank to bring. We dispatch from Spring Valley. On arrival the technician verifies vehicle ownership (registration + ID) and inspects the existing keys (broken? lost entirely? RKE fob only?). For transponder keys (1996–2015 vehicles), we cut the blank on-site and program via OBD-II in 20–45 minutes. For smart-key vehicles (2010+), we use the MaxiIM IM608 programmer — 30–90 minutes depending on the make. Some vehicles (newer BMW, Mercedes, certain Toyota) require dealer-only programming — we identify these on the phone before dispatch so you do not pay for a wasted visit.
Las Vegas locksmith pricing is too often "quoted on the phone, then changed on the truck." We give a flat-rate quote in writing before any work begins. Below is our standard pricing.

Factors that change time on-site:
Things we wish every Vegas customer knew. Following these saves time, money, and avoids damage.
Give us your VIN on the phone — it determines whether your vehicle is locksmith-serviceable or dealer-only.
Older transponder keys (1996–2015) are 30–50% cheaper than smart keys; consider keeping an old-style backup if your vehicle supports it.
After lost-keys-all-keys-lost on a smart-key vehicle, some makes require dealer "all-keys-lost" recovery procedure — we identify these on the phone.
For BMW and Mercedes 2018+, dealer-only programming is common; tow may be cheaper than dealer mobile dispatch.
Always test the new key with the vehicle running BEFORE we leave the site — verify start-stop, RKE buttons, and trunk if applicable.
Car key replacement requires verified vehicle ownership: registration plus government-issued ID with matching name. For rental vehicles, the rental agreement plus ID. We do not program keys for vehicles whose ownership we cannot verify. For commercial-fleet vehicles, the fleet manager's written authorization is required.
